getting away

So... you know how I said last week that one of the things I wanted to do was just "get away"? I'm finding that to be a literal thing right now... I've got a week's vacation in June and I want to go somewhere where I can just spend 3-5 days on retreat with my guitar, a journal, a Bible and Jesus. Anyone have any suggestions on where? (Cheaper is better. I am not quite a poor, starving grad student, but I am close.) :)

camping..... cost effective... as close or as far as you'd like... it can be a very reflective atmosphere....

lol...and bug-infested... plus there's that whole lack-of-tent thing i've got going on... found out a few years ago - quite unfortunately - that the "water-resistant" tent i'd been using since elementary school was not all that effective against torrential downpours in Wisconsin - and it never recovered, so was henceforth pitched... the pictures from that (brief) trip were hilarious, tho...

ha! I hate to tell you.. but no tent is completely resistant torrential downpours, no matter what state (or province) you are in :)

true... but by the time we got it set up there was an inch and a half of water in the bottom - and by the time we got it home and hung out to dry... ew. :P

i don't mind camping for a night or two, but i'm not so keen on the idea of a week in the wilderness... especially with a chance that it might rain. no, i think this will be an indoor trip... :)
