flunking Lent...

FLUNKING LENT

Obviously, once upon a time, there were a few more fries...

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free, right?  ;)

Haha, Happy. Sorry about that. You are definitely free in Christ, though, for sure. How do you like Love Wins? I've been tracking the controversy, and read reviews from people who liked it and from people who poked all sorts of holes in his arguments...so one day I'm going to read it as well (but I don't want to spend money on it right now...)

Enjoy the rest of Lent :).

LOL! I had to take a double take because when I first read the heading I mistook "flunking" for another F word.

Good for you fessing up though. I still haven't had a coffee yet even when hubby puts a whole pot on. I've never done lent before so I'm rather proud of myself. Of course I don't mean to rub it in :)

I'm liking the daily devotionals but I'm a bit behind. So grateful for the links to bible gateway with each scripture. Otherwise I don't think I would bother.

@Faith - I really like Love Wins - a lot. I'm only about 50 pages in, and I don't always completely agree with everything Rob says - I think his exegesis gets a little sketchy here and there (but I imagine mine does too...) :P But he asks a lot of good questions, and makes a lot of good points, and I think something people are forgetting as they review it is that writing is, like anything else creative, an *art* form. Love Wins isn't just a book, it's a piece of art - and from what I've read so far, it beautifully depicts the LOVE of God for the lost. I like that. :)

@Ruth - haha - I *literally* laughed out loud at your comment about the F words... ;-) In truth, I did actually pray before buying the cheeseburger - more on that in a coming post - but it was really yummy! I'm proud of you for giving up coffee - it's one of the things I've given up, too, and I miss it - but the discipline of it is good for me. Teaches me self-control, which is useful in all sorts of other situations, right? :) Keep it up - we're almost halfway there! And don't worry about "catching up" (unless you really want to) - you can just skip ahead and pick up where we are. Love you!

(and really, letters forthcoming soon - to both of you!) :)

Happy, if you hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have remembered that you were "supposed" to write me a letter! Now that you've mentioned it again....yes, please!! :)

Good to hear your insights about the book!
